The Division encompasses specific programmes, including the Scottish Patient Safety Programme (SPSP), the Healthcare Associated Infections Programme, Better Together and associated Patient Experience initiatives and works in partnership with all the Divisions across Raigmore Hospital. The Division is also responsible for delivering, maintaining, and enhancing a pro-active and positive Quality and Patient Safety culture which effectively contributes to NHS Highland’s clinical governance roles, responsibilities and plans. The Quality and Patient Safety Division, led by the Lead Nurse, is responsible for developing and monitoring the implementation of quality and patient safety strategies, together with supporting the development of operational policies, procedures and guidelines. We have produced a 360 degree video of our plaster room to allow young patients and their families to see what is involved when removing a plaster cast. The Division also manages Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Anaesthetics, a 7 bed Intensive Care Unit, 10 Theatres and Day Surgery Unit. The Surgical Division provides services across a wide range of specialties including: General Surgery including Upper GI, Colorectal and Vascular, Orthopaedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Orthodontics and Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. In addition, the division also includes the Emergency department and the Integrated Out of Hours provision of Inverness GP Services. The division has a medical assessment unit, medical high dependency unit and a coronary care unit. The division also provides Cancer Services (Oncology & Haematology). The Medical Division delivers a wide range of medical specialities, including: Care of the Elderly, Diabetes, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Respiratory, Renal, Stroke and Young Adult Rehabilitation, Paediatrics, Neurology, Rheumatology, Dermatology and Cardiology.
